Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative with experience in the utility industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in handling utility-related inquiries and service requests, with strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a passion for delivering excellent service.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat, specifically related to utility services (water, gas, electric, etc.), billing issues, service disruptions, and general account management.
Service Requests: Process and coordinate utility service requests, such as starting, stopping, or transferring services, and scheduling maintenance or repair services.
Issue Resolution: Handle customer complaints and resolve service-related issues, including billing discrepancies, outages, and usage concerns, while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Documentation: Accurately document customer interactions, service orders, and resolution steps in the company s CRM or billing system.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including field technicians and billing departments, to ensure timely resolution of customer requests and issues.
Reporting: Provide regular feedback to management regarding customer concerns, service issues, and process improvements.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or a degree in business, customer service, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
2+ years of customer service experience, preferably within the utility industry (water, electricity, gas, etc.).
Familiarity with utility billing systems, account management, and service processes.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve customer complaints effectively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM or utility billing software.
Problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly regarding utility-related service and billing issues.
Two way radio experience
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience working with utility companies or similar organizations.
Knowledge of utility regulations, billing processes, and industry-specific terminology.
