AUE STAFFING along with Volusia County Government is looking for an Intern to join the Traffic Engineering department.

Department: Traffic Engineering, Volusia County


Location: Traffic Engineering Office, DeLand, with potential fieldwork at various intersections within the county as needed.
Internship Duration: 12 weeks

Hours per Week:
Approximately 20 hours


Compensation: $15 per hour

Job Requirements

About the Department


The Traffic Engineering Division maintains and operates over 440 traffic control devices in Volusia County. The team is responsible for planning, designing, and constructing new traffic signals, addressing traffic safety concerns, and reviewing land development plans for potential traffic impacts.



Internship Duties
Collect and analyze turning movement count data and crash data.
Collect and analyze turning movement count data and crash data.

Perform intersection analysis using Synchro and Highway Capacity Software (HCS) to assess delay, level of service, and signal optimization.

Required Qualifications
Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master s degree program in Engineering or Transportation Planning.
Learning Outcomes

This internship offers hands-on experience in marketable traffic engineering services.



Supervision
The intern will be supervised by the Traffic Engineering Staff, who will provide training, guidance, and evaluation.

Note: This internship is intended for students receiving college credit or fulfilling an internship requirement for their degree program.

In her free time, Brittany enjoys the beach, cooking, exercising, and spending quality time with her husband, children, and two dogs.
