Job Description

Job Title: Procurement and Inventory Specialist

Job Summary:
The Procurement and Inventory Specialist will be responsible for managing the acquisition, receipt, and tracking of materials and supplies necessary for company operations.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of procurement processes, warehouse practices, and inventory management, combined with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
Utilize a computer and various software packages to manage procurement and inventory processes.
Interpret and accurately process purchase orders, invoices, shipping documents, and other procurement-related documents.
Communicate effectively over the phone to coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
Perform calculations related to procurement and inventory management with a high degree of accuracy.
Implement standard industry practices for material acquisition, warehousing, and receiving.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement and inventory activities.
Organize and conduct physical inventories and inspections of materials to ensure accuracy and quality.
Handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weights of 12 to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in using computers and common software packages (e.G., Microsoft Office, inventory management systems).
Solid understanding of industry-standard procurement and material acquisition practices.
Strong ability to comprehend and process purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documents.
Effective verbal communication skills, especially for phone interactions.
Competency in working with numbers and performing calculations with accuracy.
Knowledge of warehouse and receiving practices consistent with industry standards.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with vendors, suppliers, and team members.
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with inventory management, including lifting and moving materials.
Physical Requirements:
Regular ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights of 12 to 20 pounds.
Occasional ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights of 20 to 50 pounds.
