REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years [60 semester or 90 quarter hours] of college-level credit with major coursework in Geography, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Urban/Regional Planning, or a closely related field;
OR
two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in construction, permitting, and/or reading and interpreting a wide-variety of maps, aerial photographs, survey notes, plats, and legal descriptions.
Additional qualifying education and/or experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted one for the other on a year for year basis.
Basic experience utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) software, including ArcMap or other similar software, is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver s license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Good knowledge in the use of personal computers, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other similar software.
Good knowledge in the use of modern office equipment, including printers, copiers, and scanners.
Good knowledge of current customer service practices, including telephone etiquette.
Some knowledge in the use of maps and legal descriptions.
Some knowledge of the geographical layout of Brevard County.
Some knowledge in the use of GIS software, including ArcMap, or other similar software.
Some knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and methods.
Ability to learn and utilize Accela, Adobe DC, and the Brevard County Property Appraiser s website.
Ability to learn to create and/or convert documents for Section 508 compliance requirements for usability by persons with disabilities.
Ability to read and interpret a wide-variety of maps, aerial photographs, survey notes, and legal descriptions.
Ability to present data in graphic, pictorial, tabular, and written form.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to utilize complex organizational systems.
Ability to manage confidential records.
Ability to multi-task and organize and prioritize assigned work.
Ability to meet schedules, timelines, and deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is mainly sedentary work.
